Why this site exists

Excavation is the part of a pool, an ADU or a sewer repair that homeowners understand least and get the fewest straight answers about. The price depends on the ground, the gate and the dirt, and almost nobody puts a number in writing until they are standing in your yard. This site puts the ranges, the permit rules and the local ground knowledge in one place, written by an owner, not a lender or a lead marketplace. Then it hands your request to one licensed contractor who works your city, not to a list of five who all call at once.

How a request moves

You send the address and the job. We route it to one licensed California excavation contractor, CSLB Class A or C-12 and C-42 for septic, who covers your area. They call within one business day, walk the site, and quote on their own paper. They hold the contract, pull the permits, file the 811 ticket and do the work. We do not perform or contract excavation, and the ranges on the cost guide are what those contractors quote inside, not a quote from us.

Where the numbers come from

The ranges are built from residential excavation quotes in the valley, Inland Empire haul and landfill rates, and the permit and septic rules published by San Bernardino County and the cities. The ground notes come from the California Geological Survey’s fan and landslide mapping and from the contractors who dig here every week. When a range moves, the table moves with it.
